My mostly aleatoric compositions use a variety of approaches, primarily
altered or abstracted notation, and game-like strategies, based on the
location of a performance, its acoustics, architecture, occasion, personnel, instrumentation. They are intended to engage classically trained and improvising musicians alike.

AdENDDA 2021. s composed of a singular, repeated rhythmic phrase that is virtually un-notatable. Its nuance exists in the cracks of delineated beats in a measure. The phrase has a melodic shape, but has no determinate pitch, clef, key nor register, all of which are interpreted by the individual performers. The result of this freedom is intended to highlight the melodic contour without any tonality. AdENDDA is notated on a six-line staff to further destabilize a conventional reading of pitches and intervals. The static rhythmic phrase becomes a filter through which to hear shifting, serialized accent patterns and displaced melodic fragments from an exhaustive number of perspectives or orientations.
